It's getting there....

Well, once again I had to bark my song of "Mom, let me on the computer!  I have to let Ms. Carol know we got her message".  Finally, after hours of begging, pleading, panting and licking, she finally let me on her lap to update you on the progress of our pool!

We've had Mr.'s come to do the "shot-crete".  That was a lot of fun to watch.  The whole neighborhood turned out, with lawn chairs in hand, to see the shell of a hole in the ground start to take shape in to a real pool.  A week or so after that, some more Mr.'s woke us up bright and early to start the rock work that lines the top third or so of the pool.  Two days later, they were done.  Our new play area is now called "Boulder Beach".

I think it was that day that the Mr.'s finished the rock work that I heard Mom and Mommy panicking and running to the phone.  See, we are in a severe drought - the worst in California's recorded history.  It was on this day that the pawrents got the news that the local water company had instituted a "no pool fill" policy, among many other water-conserving requirements.  They called the water company to beg and plead to be allowed enough water to fill our big drinking bowl.  The lady who answered said that we would be heavily fined, but that they couldn't stop us (yet) from using water, and that she understood the need given our temps are in the 100's already, and soaring as each day goes by.  The bad part (for me) is that mom and mommy are foregoing the grass they planned to put back in around the pool.  The water company has very strict irrigation requirements, and they thought it best to stick with either rock or dirt.  I'm NOT happy about that, since I love to roll in the grass, but I've been out-voted.  They keep mumbling something about "when you get a job and pay the water fines, you can have grass".  Blah, blah, blah!

Anyhow, here are the most recent pictures I took all by myself of our spring.summer project.  Oh, and remind me to tell you about the shed kits that were delivered a few weeks ago!!

Love,
Kagan
